Now, I'm not CERTAIN of who the artists were on these cards, but for the life of me, I'd SWEAR both Dick Giordano and Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, Jr. had their hands in it. Especially when one looks at some of the faces. :)

Here are this week's cards! Enjoy!

In Memoriam - 10

Donna Summer, a beautiful lady and wonderful singer, passed away yesterday after an illness.

Rest In Peace, Ms. Summer.

Here's one of my favorite songs by the lady.

In Memoriam - 9

Ernie Chan, an artist at DC Comics in the late 1970's has passed away. I didn't create any banners, but I wanted to honor him here, at least.

I always enjoyed his artwork, but I'm mainly familiar with his DC work. He also did some work at Marvel Comics, mostly on Conan, but DC's where I really knew him from.

RIP, Mr. Chan. You will be missed.

How My Superman Toys ALMOST Got Me In Serious Trouble!

It was a few years ago, and my wife Naomi and I were both at home. Naomi was watching TV, and I'd gone into the back room to straighten out my Superman toy collection. Now, it was QUITE extensive at one point, but I'd sold much of it off back in '06.

Anyway, I'd just happened to have several figures of Superman moved on top of a dresser, when I noticed something. There were about seven of them, all wrapped in chains, or in various stages of breaking the chains, as Superman is wont to do. I'd called Naomi into the room.

"Honey! Come here!"

"What is it?"

"LOOK, Honey!"

"What IS it? I don't see anything!"

I pointed directly at the Superman toys on the dresser, and said, "Don't you SEE? SUPERMAN'S married, too!"

At that point, the sky outside darkened. Barking dogs ceased, and ran under porches, whimpering. Children playing stopped, and cried for their mothers. Women fainted, and grown men fled in terror. The skies parted, and a thunderous voice boomed down from the heavens above.

"You're on your own here, kid!"

I'm STILL paying for that mistake, guys! Save yourselves! LEARN from my error! ;)

Happy Anniversary, Honey! I love you. :)

Superman And DC Greeting Cards - 2!

Hello again!

I've got some more of the old Superman greeting cards from 1978 here. Superman was King of the Hill at the time these came out, and it shows! :) The first Superman movie starring the late Christopher Reeve had just come out a year earlier, and the public couldn't get ENOUGH of the Man of Steel! Heck! -I- can't get enough of him NOW! ;)

Okay, I'll shut up now, and put up some of the cards now. :)

Well, that'll do it for now! I'll be back on Saturday with schtuff fer ya to enjoy! :) And wish me a Happy Anniversary! It's my NINTH today! ;)

Superman And DC Greeting Cards - 1!

Good morning! :)

Today, I'm going to start posting the Superman greeting cards that DC put out back in 1978 or so. :) Now, these AREN'T all Superman, but he IS in the majority of them, given that he'd just had a major motion picture starring him released. So you WILL see Wonder Woman (who had a TV show right around this time), but also Batman and Robin! :)

There're almost 50 of these cards, so they'll be coming out for a bit! Enjoy! :)

Well, that'll do it for today! I'll be back Wednesday, VERY early in the morning with several more! :)

The World's Finest On Sesame Street!

Hello, again! I'm back with more schtuff for you to (hopefully) enjoy! :)

Back in the very early 1970's, Sesame Street came into being. They did NOT always use Big Bird, Bert & Ernie, or Oscar The Grouch to teach little ones about life, though.

No! Someone at PBS had the brilliant idea to use Superman and Batman on the show! :) I only have three of their appearances, though, as I'm missing one of each of their guest-shots. The one I'm missing of Superman had him teaching kids about the letter "D" and Batman was teaching kids the difference between "clean" and "dirty."

The following appeared in DC Comics circa 1970 to help promote the show, and the heroes' appearances. :)

Below, I've got one of the Superman shorts, and two of Batman's shorts. (Wait. That didn't sound quite right, did it?) ;)

I always loved the fact that not only did they use the classic animation from the Superman/Batman cartoon series on CBS from a few years earlier, but they'd also gotten ahold of the voice actors to portray Batman, Robin, and Joker! Unfortunately, Bud Collyer had passed away just a few months prior to the show's debut.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed this little time capsule! I'll be back with more schtuff this Saturday! I'm hopin' everyone likes it! :)

Avengers Assemble!

Okay! I've got a few new banners here for your (hopeful) enjoyment! :) Seeing as how the Avengers movie just opened up a few days ago, I'd made several banners for various boards promoting it.

These all appeared on the Avengers, DC, the Golden-Silver-Bronze Ages, and the Justice League Of America Message Boards. Now, I KNOW the Avengers don't really fit on two of the boards, but I WAS able to make it all work! ;)

Enjoy! :)

Well, I hope you enjoyed these! I'll have a bit of something to post come this Wednesday for ye all! :)

Let's Have A Laugh--3!

Hello again! I've got what -I- think are some funny banners, and I hope YOU like 'em, too!

These all came from the DC Comics, Golden-Silver-Bronze Ages, and Superman Boards.

Well, that'll do it for now, but I'll be back again with a few more banners, in honor of the Avengers movie this weekend! :) See ya then! :)
